Company aims to play active part in supporting Northern Ireland

Fonacab has become the official taxi partner of the Northern Ireland football team.

The Irish Football Association has agreed a sponsorship deal with the Belfast-based taxi company.

William McCausland, Managing Director of fonaCAB, said: “We are delighted to announce this association with the Northern Ireland football team.

“This is an excellent opportunity for us to further enhance our commitment to supporting growth and prosperity in local communities through sport. With both the Northern Ireland team and ourselves enjoying a time of great success, this partnership will help to increase our profile and community awareness of our brand.”

Mr McCausland said the company, which has 900 drivers and employs 100 staff, is keen to offer employment opportunities within local communities in Belfast through further expansion as it strives to provide a world class taxi service throughout the city.

He added: “We are looking forward to playing a very active part in the support of the Northern Ireland team and wish them all the best on the road to Russia and in all future qualification campaigns.”

Gareth Williamson, the Irish FA’s Sponsorship Activation Manager, said: "We are delighted fonaCAB has joined our line-up of sponsors.

"This partnership will help to promote the country’s most popular sport even further.”
