Cliftonville stroll it in last four of Harry Cavan competition

Cliftonville Strollers hit Glenavon Youth for six at Seaview to book their place in the final of this season's Harry Cavan Youth Cup.

Right from the off the game developed into an end-to-end battle with both sides giving their all.

The deadlock was broken in the 19th minute when Eoin Teggart opened the scoring with a near post shot past Glenavon keeper McKenzie Pauley.

That was how it stayed until the stroke of half-time when John Savage struck from just outside the corner of the 18-yard box to double Cliftonville's lead.

And Cliftonville scored again just three minutes into the second half through Ciaran Donnelly. He produced a looping shot over the keeper following a flowing move.

Much as Glenavon tried they just could not find a way through the Cliftonville defence.

The Reds went 4-0 up on 51 minutes after Caoimhin McConnell beat Pauley one-on-one.

Yet again Glenavon pressed the Cliftonville defence but the Reds scored once more when McConnell took charge of a spot kick on 86 minutes, making no mistake with a powerful conversion.

Cliftonville hadn't finished and sealed their place in the final with their sixth goal moments later when Eoin Teggart smashed home a shot from the edge of the box.

Cliftonville will meet the winner of the postponed semi-final between Coleraine and Linfield in April's decider.
