Kenny Shiels: There's a lot of potential that I hope to take to the next level

Kenny Shiels has spoken of his pride after being named as the new Northern Ireland Senior Women's manager.

In his first interview since being appointed, the former Kilmarnock and Derry City boss said he was 'proud' and highlighted the 'great potential' in the squad which he hopes to use to take the team to the next level.

Captain Marissa Callaghan also gave her reaction to the appointment saying the team were 'really excited' adding that the team 'can't wait to see what Kenny's style of play is to push us forward'.
