Marissa Callaghan on target for Reds

Northern Ireland captain Marissa Callaghan scored the only goal of the game as Cliftonville Ladies maintained their 100 percent winning start to the Danske Bank Women’s Premiership.

The Reds saw off Sion Swifts in a hard-fought 1-0 victory at Sion Swifts Ladies, making it five wins from five for the league leaders.

Current internationals Lauren Wade, Joely Andrews and Kerry Beattie were all on target as Glentoran Women eased to an 8-2 success at Derry City Women. Rachel Rogan netted a hat-trick while Kelly Bailie, Alison McMaster also found the net.

Alison McGonagle and Paula McGrory grabbed the consolation goals for the Candystripes.

Elsewhere Crusaders Strikers secured a notable win at home to Linfield Ladies thanks to Amy McGivern’s strike just before the half-hour mark.  The result was enough to draw the Strikers level on points with the Blues - each have seven points after five rounds of action.
