Josh Magennis, the scorer of the second goal versus Greece that helped seal a place in France, scored in the 66th minute for Kilmarnock v Inverness Caledonian Thistle in a 2-0 win. That took Magennis up to four goals in his last four games for Killie.

Another striker to get on the scoresheet was Will Grigg as Wigan smashed Colchester United. The Northern Ireland striker scored in the 33rd minute to give the Latics a 4-0 lead at half time and he made it five with just three minutes to go.

There were also two battles this weekend between Northern Irish teammates as firstly Niall McGinn and Liam Boyce went head to head. It was Boyce’s Ross County who claimed all three points from McGinn’s Aberdeen with a 2-0 victory.

The other battle was at Stadiummk as recent call-up Ben Reeves scored twice for MK Dons against Blackburn Rovers, featuring midfielder Corry Evans. Reeves first goal came from the spot and he sealed an emphatic 3-0 win with a goal in the 89th minute.

There were also three clean sheets, starting with Northern Ireland and West Bromwich Albion centre back pairing Jonny Evans and Gareth McAuley. The duo stood firm against Sunderland to help claim a 1-0 win with Chris Brunt also playing the whole 90 minutes.

Conor McLaughlin kept a clean sheet as Fleetwood Town secured a thumping 4-0 win over Burton Albion and finally, Roy Carroll did the same as his Notts County side beat Yeovil 2-0.
