It is alleged that the player may have played in official matches for 3 different clubs this season in contravention of both FIFA and IFA player registration regulations.
Warrenpoint Town attended this evening’s emergency meeting to assist the committee with their enquiries, but more time is needed to conclude the investigation which is ongoing.
As a consequence this weekend’s scheduled round 6 tie between Linfield and Warrenpoint Town has been postponed and will be rescheduled for Monday 16th February 2015.
In the event that the player’s eligibility is proven Linfield will play against Warrenpoint Town and if the player is proven to have been ineligible Coleraine FC will be reinstated and replace Warrenpoint Town in accordance with the competition rules.
