What a night it was for women’s football in Northern Ireland on Tuesday as the senior women’s team created history all over again.
After securing a UEFA Women’s Euro play-off at the tail end of 2020, the girls in green and white defied the odds again to claim a memorable 4-1 aggregate win over Ukraine.
Second-half goals from Marissa Callaghan and Nadene Caldwell fired Kenny Shiels’ side to qualification – and a first ever major tournament for the team.
