The Irish Football Association is taking a consultation on the structure of the women’s football pyramid in Northern Ireland on the road.
The consultation is aimed at ensuring the women’s football pyramid supports sustainable growth and performance, strengthening the transition from youth to senior football and improving representation and opportunities across all roles.
Four pyramid review consultation roadshow events, being staged this month and next, will gather stakeholders’ views on building a structure that reflects the evolving needs of the game.
First up is a roadshow at Newry High School on Tuesday 23 September, followed by another at Ulster University’s Magee campus in Derry-Londonderry on Monday 29 September.
The third venue on the tour is the Bawnacre Centre in Irvinestown on Tuesday 30 September.
Belfast’s Clearer Twist National Stadium at Windsor Park will host the final roadshow event on Monday 1 October. All roadshow events start at 7pm.
In addition there will be two online consultation sessions – on Monday 6 October and Wednesday 8 October.
You can sign up to attend one of the events here.
The ‘Together We Thrive: Your voice in the future of Women's Football’ consultation is part of the association’s ongoing commitment to develop and strengthen the pyramid, which is a priority in the women's football strategic plan 'Together We Thrive: Elevating the game for everyone'.
“The consultation will provide an opportunity for all of those involved in the women’s game to help shape a more inclusive, competitive and thriving future for women’s football in Northern Ireland,” said the Irish FA Director of Women’s Football, Angela Platt.
Another key part of the consultation is a survey, which is still open and can be accessed here. The survey closes on Friday (5 September).
