A Northern Ireland Under-15 team are in Spain this week competing in the Albir Cup.

Head coach Matthew Tipton has chosen a 20-strong squad for the international development tournament, which gets under way today (5 May) in Alicante.

First up for Northern Ireland is a game against United Arab Emirates today before they face Spain on Thursday (7 May). Their final game is against Turkiye on Saturday (9 May).

Ahead of the trip, Tipton said: “We are all looking forward to getting over to Spain with the 2012 squad. This will be their first taste of international football and we are facing three tough teams in UAE, Spain and Turkiye.

“The boys have worked extremely hard over the course of the season, initially at the Irish FA JD National Performance Programme regional centres and then in the national and development squads based at Stormont for the last few months.
