The 145th annual general meeting of the Irish Football Association was held at the Clearer Twist National Stadium at Windsor Park last night.
The AGM was attended by delegates from member clubs of the association from across Northern Ireland along with members of the Irish FA Board and Senior Leadership Team.
Irish FA Chief Executive Patrick Nelson said the association had enjoyed another busy year in 2025:
"It was great to see another packed AGM, a night, wherever it is held, which is always significant for our members, and for football, right across Northern Ireland.
“Our game continues to touch every corner of society in Northern Ireland, and throughout the past year we have worked hard to strengthen the foundations of our game while recognising the unique role football plays beyond the pitch.
“On the international stage, our teams have once again given supporters plenty to be proud of. The senior men’s team captured the imagination of the country with an impressive run to the FIFA World Cup play-off stage, while our senior women’s side have earned a place in the FIFA World Cup play-offs set to take place this Autumn.
“Equally encouraging has been the progress throughout our player pathway. Our underage teams delivered outstanding performances, qualifying for elite UEFA competitions and demonstrating the strength of the talent emerging across Northern Ireland.
“Those achievements have also helped position us to host the UEFA Women’s Under-17 Championship Finals in 2026, providing a fantastic opportunity to showcase both our country and our football on the European stage.
“Another key development this year has been the continued progress of the National Football Centre at Galgorm. Securing the land, completing the design phase and engaging with local communities through public consultation have all been major milestones.”
The financial statements for the year ended 31 December 2025 showed the Irish FA had income of £20 million over the 12-month period and achieved a breakeven trading result.
Delegates considered a proposal on the Annual Affiliation Charges for members. The Board recommended that they remain unchanged, with membership unanimously agreeing the proposal.
At the meeting members approved the association’s annual report and financial statements, the Irish FA Foundation’s annual report and financial statements and the Irish FA Stadium Development Company’s annual report. They also watched a video version of the Irish FA’s annual Activity Report which summarised the football activities and operations of the three Irish FA entities during the 2025-26 season.
