The Irish Football Association has started preparations to recruit a new manager for Northern Ireland’s senior women’s team, marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter for the game.
The Association’s Director of Women’s Football, Angela Platt, said the Irish FA is preparing for an exciting new chapter in women’s football following the departure of Tanya Oxtoby from the role.
She said: "This is a key appointment for the future of women’s football in Northern Ireland.
“We’ve made huge progress in recent years, and now we’re focused on finding the right leader to take us even further. It’s an exciting time for the game, and we look forward to welcoming someone who shares our passion and vision.
“We are currently reviewing the role and finalising our plans to recruit a new senior manager who will play a pivotal role in driving our Together We Thrive women’s and girls’ football strategy forward.”
Platt explained the recruitment process will aim to attract the right person to build on the strong foundations laid in recent years.
“We look forward to announcing the successful candidate once the process is complete, as we continue to build on the incredible progress of women’s football in Northern Ireland,” the Director of Women’s Football added.
Earlier this month Tanya Oxtoby stepped down after a successful tenure to take up a new challenge as women’s first team manager at WSL 2 side Newcastle United.
