Quickfire Q&A | Northern Ireland Senior Women's midfielder Rachel Furness

As part of an ongoing Northern Ireland National Team Instagram Stories series, we caught up with senior women’s midfielder Rachel Furness for a quickfire Q and A.

Here the Liverpool midfielder covers her favourite moment for Northern Ireland, her inspiration and her advice for the younger generation.

Favourite moment for Northern Ireland?

It has be to my 50th cap. I captained the side that night and scored as well. My whole family were there to watch it and it was a proud moment for myself and my family.

Have you ever lost a header? (from team-mate Ciara Watling)

Thanks for that question, Ciara. In my whole career ... I have to say: one or two? But not many ... *laughs*

Who inspired you when you were little?

I would have to say it’s my older brother. He was football mad and I wanted to be like him growing up.

How did you feel being named vice captain of Liverpool Women?

It’s a very proud moment for myself and I’m really excited to take on the extra responsibilities and help to lead the team this season.

Any advice for the younger generation?

Work hard, believe in yourself, listen to coaches and always want to be better.
