Northern Ireland Under-21s boss Tommy Wright has revealed his squad for Euro qualifiers away to Germany and Latvia later this month.
The U21s are set to take on Germany at the Eintracht Stadion in Braunschweig on Friday 27 March (5pm start GMT) followed by a game against Latvia at Daugava Stadium in Riga on Tuesday 31 March (12 noon kick-off BST).
Wright has included two new faces in his panel this month: attackers Devlan Moses and Callum Burnside.
Striker Moses (20) has played six times for EFL Championship side Sheffield Wednesday’s first team this season, all as a substitute. He made his debut for Wednesday in a 3-0 defeat away to QPR on 4 January.
The young forward, who has scored 10 goals in just six games for the Owls’ Under-21 side this term, previously played for Northern Ireland at U19 level, earning three caps and scoring once.
Nineteen-year-old Burnside, who made the move to Rangers from Linfield in 2023, joined Alloa Athletic on loan from Rangers in October until the end of the season.
He has scored nine goals in 22 appearances for Alloa this term. And his hat-trick against Montrose for the Scottish League One side last weekend took his goals tally to seven in his last five outings for Alloa. The young winger has previously played for Northern Ireland at U19 and U17 level.
Returning to the U21s panel after missing out through injury last time around are Northampton Town defender Michael Forbes (on loan from West Ham United), Aston Villa winger Cole Brannigan and Nottingham Forest defender Matthew Orr.
Huddersfield Town goalkeeper Francis Hurl is back as well after not featuring in the last two camps.
Wright’s side currently sit third in Group F in the 2025-27 UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualifying group stage. They have seven points after winning two, drawing one and losing two in their five group games to date. Latvia are fourth with four points.
Greece top the group with a 100 per cent record (15 points), while Germany have 12 points after four wins and a defeat.
Back in November the U21s defeated Latvia 1-0 at home, while the previous month they narrowly lost 2-1 against the Germans at The Oval.
Not included in the 23-strong panel for this international window are Liverpool winger Kieran Morrison, who has been called up to the senior team for the FIFA World Cup 2026 semi-final play-off against Italy, and Cliftonville winger Liam McStravick.
Four other players who were also in the panel for the win against the Latvians and a defeat against the high flying Greeks in November - goalkeeper Mason Munn, forward Rio Oudnie-Morgan, midfielder Harry Wilson and defender Tommy Fogarty - all miss out this time, too.
The Northern Ireland U21s squad for the upcoming qualifiers against Germany and Latvia is as follows:
