McComb's Coach Travel Intermediate Cup | Quarter-finals recap

An exciting weekend saw the McComb's Coach Travel Intermediate Cup reach the last four following quarter-final wins for Moyola Park, Rathfriland Rangers, Strabane Athletic and East Belfast.

Moyola Park produced a clinical first-half display to defeat last season’s runners-up St. James’ Swifts 2-0 at Donegal Celtic Park in the 'tie of the round'.

Luca Doherty opened the scoring on 19 minutes, before David Parkhouse doubled the lead deep into stoppage time to settle the tie.

Rathfriland Rangers edged Comber Rec. 3-2 in an entertaining clash at Park Way.

Matthew Tumilson gave the hosts an early lead, but Eoin Rooney’s clever lob levelled the scores.

Stephen McCavitt’s brace early in the second half put Rangers ahead, and although Tumilson struck again to set up a tense finish, Rathfriland held on.

Drama unfolded at Melvin Park Arena as Strabane Athletic overcame outgoing holders Crumlin Star 4-3 on penalties after a 3-3 draw.

Oisin Duffy’s double and Shea Devlin’s strike put the hosts 3-1 up at half-time, but Kevin Lynch and Joseph McNeill brought Crumlin level. Strabane held their nerve from the spot to progress.

East Belfast claimed a stoppage-time victory against Islandmagee, winning 3-2 at East Park.

Jaydyn Withers and Nathan Clarke gave the hosts a 2-0 lead, but Sam Morrow and Joel McMurtry pulled Islandmagee level. Daryl Evans struck in the fourth minute of added time to secure the win and a place in the last four.
