NIPW | Price among the goals for Baggies

Isaac Price scored his seventh goal of the season as West Brom eased their relegation worries with a 3-0 Championship win over play-off hopefuls Hull City at the Hawthorns at the weekend.

The 22-year-old Northern Ireland attacker rounded off an impressive display with the Baggies' third goal in injury time, and admitted he should have had more goals to his name this term.

“I’ve had so many chances this year that I could’ve definitely had 15 or 16 goals,” he told WBA TV.

“But it just hasn’t been going my way. I’ve not been clinical enough in the final third and that’s cost us in some games. To score today though means the world.”

Also among the goals over the weekend was striker Jamie Reid, whose 10th minute spot kick gave Stevenage a single-goal victory at home to AFC Wimbledon in League One.

In League Two Shayne Lavery made it two in three games as he bagged his sixth of the campaign in Cambridge United’s emphatic 5-0 victory at home to Gillingham who had Ronan Hale leading their attack.

In the Premier League Trai Hume and Daniel Ballard both started Sunderland’s 1-0 home defeat to Brighton and Hove Albion. Unfortunately Ballard had to be withdrawn after 64 minutes having picked up a hamstring injury.

Speaking to the Sunderland Echo, Black Cats boss Regis Le Bris said: "Dan had discomfort with his hamstring, so we hope it isn't too serious.”

Meanwhile, Swansea City’s Ethan Galbraith, Oxford United duo Ciaron Brown and Jamie Donley, Paul Smyth of QPR and Sheffield Wednesday goalkeeper Pierce Charles all started for their respective clubs in the Championship.

In League One Patrick Kelly returned from injury and weighed in with an assist as Barnsley drew 2-2 at Mansfield Town and George Saville also popped up with an assist in Luton Town’s 2-1 away victory at Wycombe Wanderers.

In Scotland Callum Burnside, who is on loan at Alloa Athletic from Rangers, hit a hat-trick as the League One outfit lost a thrilling game at Montrose by five goals to four.

The 19-year-old has now hit seven goals in his last five outings for the Wasps to take his tally for the season to nine.

Northern Ireland international Keri Halliday took just 19 minutes to score on her debut for Motherwell Women as they beat Aberdeen 4-3 in the SWPL 1 on Sunday.

The 21-year-old, who has 13 caps for her country, has joined Motherwell on loan from Hearts until the end of the season.

Finally, Kallum Thompson scored the winner for Nottingham Forest U21s in their 2-1 Premier League 2 victory away to Fulham. It was the former Linfield forward’s sixth goal of the season for the Forest U21 side.
