fonaCAB Craig Stanfield Junior Cup | Fifth Round recap

The fonaCAB Craig Stanfield Junior Cup is down to the quarter-finals following an afternoon of thrilling contests and dramatic finishes.

Enniskillen Rangers staged a remarkable comeback to beat Cleary Celtic in Newry. Celtic took the lead through Connaire Harrison’s stunning overhead kick after 17 minutes. Rangers equalised shortly after the hour mark via Jason Keenan.

With the visitors seemingly set to progress following Michael Ireland’s stoppage-time goal, Jordan Breen quickly levelled. Breen then completed the comeback in extra time, sliding in to meet Conor Rippey’s precise delivery and seal a 3-2 victory.

Enniskillen Town United swept to a comfortable three-goal win over Newhill at Crumlin Leisure Centre. Cathal Beacom opened the scoring on 29 minutes, Conall Quinn doubled the lead in the second half, and Darren Freeman wrapped up the win nine minutes from time.

At Aurora Leisure Centre, Groomsport edged past Rathfriland Rangers Reserves. Despite Joshua Ingram hitting the crossbar, Jack Ennis headed home the decisive goal in the 72nd minute.

NFC Kesh came from behind to beat Lisbellaw United at Michael Connolly Park. Scott Moutray gave Lisbellaw an early lead, but Nathan Cashel equalised after the break. Despite a missed penalty by Gary Henderson, Daniel Wilson scored the late winner.

Rosario YC II advanced past Greencastle Rovers in a dramatic 2-2 draw ultimately decided on penalties. Ryan Campbell gave Rosario an early lead, with Greencastle equalising via a deflected corner.

James McHugh put Greencastle ahead in extra time, but Conor Murray’s late equaliser forced spot-kicks, which Rosario went on to win 5-3.

Connor secured a hard-fought 1-0 win over Belfast United at Mallusk thanks to Mark McKelvey’s 70th-minute strike.

Ards Reserves defeated Ballinamallard United Reserves 1-0 at Fisher Park. The winner came midway through the second half when Cameron Kelly’s shot was bundled home by Ethan Douglas-Grierson.

The Mountfield-Kilrea United clash in Omagh was postponed following a morning pitch inspection.
