
The Northern Ireland squad has a clean bill of health ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2026 home qualifiers against Slovakia and Germany.
The players trained in Liverpool today and will also train there over the next two days before flying to Belfast on Wednesday afternoon.
Northern Ireland manager Michael O’Neill revealed: “The squad has arrived fully fit and in good spirits. The players and backroom staff are focused and we have three days of preparation before heading back to Belfast for these two World Cup qualifiers.
“Playing in front of our home fans is always something special and we’re looking forward to the challenge.”
The Northern Ireland manager has chosen a 27-strong panel for the two sold-out games at the Clearer Twist National Stadium at Windsor Park.
First up for Northern Ireland in Group A of the European qualifiers is an encounter with table toppers Slovakia in Belfast on Friday (10 October) at 7.45pm.
Then it’s the turn of top seeds Germany to visit the National Stadium next Monday (13 October) and that game also has a 7.45pm kick-off.
