The fonaCAB Craig Stanfield Junior Cup second round concluded at the weekend, played across two matchdays due to the effects of Storm Amy earlier this month.
Holders Ardmore continued their defence of the trophy with a 5-3 victory over Beann Mhadaghain at the Valley Leisure Centre, but they had to fight back from two goals down to do so!
Beann Mhadaghain led at the break with goals from Darren Munce and Ryan Morrison either side of a Patrick Ward strike, the home side extended their advantage early in the second half when Munce bagged his second of the afternoon.
But back came the holders when goals from Darren Crossan and Jake Morrow either side of the hour helped them get back onto level terms before Ward scored twice in the final quarter-of-an-hour or so to bag a hat-trick and settle the tie in favour of the visitors.
Enniskillen Rangers, the 2023/24 champions, are also safely through to the next round thanks to first half goals from Jason Keenan and Mark Cutler seeing them past Belfast side St. Patrick's YM while Dergview Reserves, the winners the season before that, also progressed but only after a penalty shoot-out away to Newtownbreda.
That was one of only three games that were settled via spot-kicks, with Ballycastle United seeing off Coleraine Crusaders while Ravenhill YM got the better of Belfast Athletic.
Lincoln Courts were the top scorers across the round, with Rosario YC II, Hill Street and St. James' Swifts Reserves also hitting double figures.
Individually St. James' Caoinhin Norney claimed no fewer than five goals himself, alongside Ardstraw's Adam McFarland.
