Preparations begin for two Northern Ireland games in June

Northern Ireland manager Michael O’Neill has named an 18-man panel for a week-long training camp in Manchester.

The players will meet up on Monday 22 May as preparations begin for the home friendly match against New Zealand on Friday 2 June and the FIFA 2018 World Cup qualifying game against Azerbaijan eight days later.

Players who still have club matches remaining this season were not considered and the full squad for the matches will meet up on Monday 29 May.

The panel sees a return to the international set-up for Adam Thompson of Southend United who won two caps in 2011.

Under-21 players Shay McCartan, Callum Camps and Conor Mitchell are joined by Celtic and Northern Ireland Under-19 goalkeeper Conor Hazard in the training squad.

Doncaster Rovers defender Luke McCullough is also back in the international set-up for the first time since Euro 2016. He has spent most of 2016-17 on the sidelines due to a cruciate ligament injury.

The panel features:
