League Two Gillingham have secured the signature of Northern Ireland striker Ronan Hale on a two-and-a-half year deal from Ross County for an undisclosed fee.
The 27-year-old scored 30 goals in 67 outings in his 18 months with the Scottish Championship side and is expected to go straight into the Gills squad for the league clash with Bromley at Priestfield on Saturday.
Speaking to the club website, the former Cliftonville man said: “It's the place I want to be playing my football and I can't wait to get started.
“I felt it was time to move on, better myself, and score goals in different leagues. It’s a new challenge now which I am looking forward to."
“I love scoring goals,” added Hale, “I will work my socks off and do what I can for the team. I am really excited.
“When I spoke to the gaffer (Gareth Ainsworth) and heard about the place, it was the talk around the project that was going on here and getting ourselves back up the leagues; it was something I was excited to be a part of, and hopefully I can add my bit to it.”
Hale, who scored 91 goals in 182 games during his time with Crusaders, Larne and Cliftonville, was given his senior Northern Ireland debut by Michael O’Neill in the 1-0 friendly win over Iceland in Belfast last June.
