Striker scores and provides assist in 3-1 win against Wales

16 year old Emily Wilson scored and assisted on her Women's Under 19 debut as they ran out 3-1 winners against Wales.

The striker scored a fantastic lob from distance just moments before providing a calm pass into the path of Leyla McFarland who also netted her first goal for Northern Ireland.

Wilson shared about her goal as she said: "The ball came to my feet so I sort of took it round the defender and then chipped it over the keeper into the top corner so i'm pleased.

"It was definitely a special goal as it was my debut so i'm very happy."

Wilson was quick to also praise her team mates for putting in a good performance in difficult conditions, she said: "It was a great performance from the girls. We put a tough shift in and I was happy to get the goal and get an assist as well.

"We are all on a high but we need to keep performing for the next game and we are all very confident and pleased after the win."

The two sides meet again on Monday at the Ballymena Showgrounds, kick off 12pm.
