Limavady hosts Irish FA’s Annual General Meeting

The 144th Annual General Meeting of the Irish Football Association took place at Roe Valley Resort in Limavady, County Londonderry.

Irish FA President Conrad Kirkwood chaired the meeting, which was attended by delegates from across Northern Ireland, alongside members of the Irish FA Board and Senior Leadership Team.

Chief Executive Patrick Nelson reflected on a busy and productive 2024, highlighting progress both on and off the pitch.

He pointed to the senior men’s team winning their UEFA Nations League C group and gaining promotion to League B, and praised the senior women’s team for their continued development under Tanya Oxtoby.

He also cited key developments including the hosting of the UEFA Men’s Under-19 European Championship, the launch of a new Youth Football Framework shaped by nearly 24,000 contributors and the relocation of the Irish FA/JD Academy to Campbell College in Belfast.

Nelson emphasised the association’s continued commitment to reinvesting in the local game, noting that the Irish FA Group recorded income of £21.83 million and pre-tax profits of £192,000 for the year ended 31 December 2024.

Delegates approved the annual reports and financial statements of the Irish FA, the Irish FA Foundation and the Irish FA Stadium Development Company. The documents can be viewed below.

The delegates also viewed a video summary of football activity and operations across the Irish FA Group during the 2024-25 season. The video can be viewed above and by clicking here.

Members voted in favour of amending the Articles of Association to introduce an age limit for Council members and approved several updates to the Football Regulations. A NIFL proposal relating to Sunday football was passed.

The AGM concluded with the re-election of Conrad Kirkwood as President and Neil Jardine and Colin McKendry as First and Second Deputy Presidents respectively.
