M&S Food Summer Football Camps on the way

The Irish FA Foundation will be staging 20 Summer Football Camps across Northern Ireland this year.

Sponsored by M&S Food, the five-day camps for boys and girls aged five to 11 are set to be run at venues across the country between 30 June and 15 August.

And a girls-only section may be available at each camp for parents/guardians who prefer that option (subject to demand).

Part of the foundation’s grassroots football development programme, the sessions provide opportunities for children to develop and improve their football skills in a structured environment with trained and vetted staff.

Bookings for the camps this summer are now open. Claire Rea from the Irish FA Foundation said: “The camps enable kids to work on skills development and to get outdoors and meet up with and make new friends.

“There will be a fun element at each camp, too, with lots of fun games and activities.

“Alongside their excellent support staff, Irish FA Foundation staff are looking forward to building on the success of previous camps and helping children keep active.”

She further revealed that camps for disabled footballers are currently being lined up, too, with details to follow soon.

Each year thousands of kids take part in foundation-run football camps staged during Easter and the summer holidays.

M&S Food sponsors the camps as part of its partnership with the Irish FA and Northern Ireland’s international teams. The M&S/Irish FA ‘Eat Well, Play Well’ campaign is using the power of football to help families make healthier eating choices.

Places on the summer camps must be booked online. A discount is available for booking multiple children or camps in the same transaction.
