The Official Amalgamation of Northern Ireland Supporters Clubs is hosting a special celebration marking 10 years since Northern Ireland senior men’s unforgettable journey to UEFA Euro 2016 this Friday in Newtownabbey.
Manager Michael O’Neill will be joined by three key figures from that historic campaign: Stuart Dallas, Northern Ireland Under-19s manager, Gareth McAuley and Northern Ireland’s record appearance holder and former captain Steven Davis, now part of O’Neill’s backroom staff, for an evening celebrating one of the most memorable periods in Northern Ireland football history.
The event will give supporters the opportunity to hear first-hand stories and memories from the road to France and the tournament itself, when Northern Ireland competed at their first-ever UEFA European Championship finals.
A decade on, the memories of Euro 2016 remain as vivid as ever for the Green and White Army. From qualification being secured in Belfast to the unforgettable victory over Ukraine in Lyon, Northern Ireland’s journey captured the imagination of supporters at home and across Europe.
The evening will not only provide an opportunity to relive those remarkable moments but will also support two important causes. Proceeds will contribute towards Cancer Fund for Children and the Amalgamation’s Windsor Roar initiative, which aims to enhance the matchday atmosphere and backing provided to Northern Ireland’s teams.
