McKendry visits Four G day opportunities service

Irish FA President Colin McKendry has visited Four G, a day opportunities service in Dundonald supporting young adults with severe learning difficulties, to see first-hand the work being carried out to support its service users.

Four G provides five-day placements for adults aged 19 and over, offering opportunities for individuals to develop skills, build relationships and take part in activities in a supportive environment.

During his visit, McKendry met with staff and service users and learned more about the organisation’s work and the positive impact it has on the lives of those who attend.

The visit continues a tradition established by McKendry’s predecessor, Conrad Kirkwood, who also spent time at the centre. The Irish FA President said he was keen to maintain that connection and recognised the importance of taking time to visit organisations making a meaningful difference in their local communities.

McKendry said: “It was brilliant to get down to Four G and see the day centre in action. They do fantastic work supporting adults with learning difficulties, and it was great to meet the people involved and see the environment they have created.

“The values of the organisation and the work it does are close to my heart through my wider family, so it was particularly meaningful to have the opportunity to visit.”

“It is important that I use my position where possible to recognise the work of community organisations and, importantly, to show their support for the people at the heart of their services.”
