Following government and health authorities guidance on COVID-19, The Irish FA and McDonald’s have taken the decision to postpone our Fun Football Centre sessions until later in the year.
The Irish FA and McDonald’s are committed to offering free football to children of all ages and abilities in a safe and enjoyable environment and will only offer these sessions when it is completely safe to do so. The centres will run once we can ensure the wellbeing of our players, coaches and parents, based on the latest Government public health advice.
You can still register for information on the centres and you will be notified once they are available by signing up for the McDonald’s Fun Football email newsletter. We also have free Fun Football Activity Books that you can order by clicking this link .
What does the McDonald's Fun Football programme offer?
The McDonald’s Fun Football programme will deliver five million hours of fun across the UK, introducing children to coaching sessions and family events in local communities near you.
Building on the huge growth of grassroots football over the last 15 years, the next four years will see the introduction of a new participation-based programme for children.
Through this four-week beginner level coaching programme McDonald’s and the Irish FA Foundation will provide children with the opportunity to try football for the first time.
Check out the video above. Children can take part in all sorts of games and activities as well as football, and parents can get involved too.
Fun Football sessions are for five, six, seven and eight-year-olds. They are completely free and older age groups will be added at a later date. All children receive a fun sticker book and a football.
