Northern Ireland’s Women’s Under-17s will be taking part in qualifiers this month for a place at UEFA Women’s U17 Euro 2026.
Northern Ireland is actually hosting the final tournament next May, however Gail Redmond’s U17 side will be taking part in the qualifiers even though their finals place is assured as hosts.
Round 1 of qualifying for the 2025-26 UEFA European Women's Under-17 Championship runs until 2 December.
Northern Ireland are set to compete in League B Group 4 in R1 – against Turkiye and hosts Luxembourg.
The first game for Redmond’s side will see them take on the Turks at Stade Jean Donnersbach in Lintgen at 2pm GMT on Thursday (6 November).
And their second game is against Luxembourg on Sunday (9 November) at Terrain Kuerzwenkel in Consdorf. It also has a 2pm GMT start.
Earlier today Luxembourg were beaten 3-1 by Turkiye in the first group game.
Round 1 of qualifying for next year’s WU17 Euros is split into two leagues, with promotion and relegation at stake ahead of Round 2 next spring.
League A includes 28 teams, including defending champions Netherlands (who have already topped their group to maintain League A status for R2) and the seven nations promoted from League B after R2 of the 2024-25 edition.
The 21 teams in League B (including the sides relegated from League A in 2024-25 Round 2) will play for promotion to League A in six groups.
Round 2 is set to be drawn on 11 December, with teams in League A competing for seven finals slots alongside Northern Ireland. The finals draw is on 25 March with the tournament running from 3 to 16 May.
