Football family encouraged to download Irish FA child protection app

The Irish FA is encouraging everyone involved in football to download the latest version of its Safeguarding Children and Young People in Football App in order to keep up to date with the latest developments in Child Protection.

Irish FA Safeguarding Manager Kevin Doyle led on the delivery of the app’s recent updates.

He said, “There is nothing more important to the Irish FA than the safety and welfare of all children and young people playing football throughout Northern Ireland.

“It is important to raise awareness and understanding about safeguarding best practice while building the confidence and competence of the adults involved in youth football to identify, respond and report any concerns relating to the safety of children.

“In achieving this, the app has been updated and now contains lots of valuable information. It also clearly outlines the roles and responsibilities of everyone involved in football including welfare officers, coaches, parents, players and referees.”

Links to external services and support allow users to report any concerns or to simply get advice on a child protection issue.

Whatever your role is in youth football, please download the app and help make your experience in football as enjoyable as possible.
