Digital programme for Women’s Euro qualifier against Faroe Islands is now live

The Irish Football Association’s digital matchday programme for tonight’s Women’s Euro 2022 qualifier between Northern Ireland and Faroe Islands is now live.

The e-programme features Northern Ireland senior women’s team manager Kenny Shiels’ thoughts ahead of the massive Qualifying Group C match at Seaview.

It also contains the squad line-ups for both Northern Ireland and Faroe Islands – plus a welcome to the match from Irish FA President David Martin.

In addition there’s a picture gallery from the Belarus game at Seaview on Friday night, which Northern Ireland won 3-2 to keep their Euros dream alive.

And there’s a page featuring 11 virtual mascots who have been nominated by the Green and White Army.

In his programme notes the manager points out: “It would great to get the result tonight for the likes of Sarah McFadden, Julie Nelson, Ashley Hutton, Rachel Furness, Marissa Callaghan and other senior players who have made numerous appearances for their country without coming close to what could be achieved with this group.

“I have no doubt the younger players will feed off the more established ones and together they will approach the forthcoming 90 minutes with a desire and confidence, knowing that we have prepared well both individually and collectively in advance of the match.

“Thank you for supporting our international team. We hope that you - the #GAWA - will be rewarded with an enjoyable game on the pitch with a favourable outcome for Northern Ireland.”

Northern Ireland need to defeat the Faroes to guarantee a play-off for a place at Women’s Euro 2022, which is being staged in England.

Tonight’s game (7.00 start) is being played behind closed doors due to Covid restrictions, however it is being streamed live on the BBC Sport website and iPlayer.
