Magill returns as Furness misses out with Injury

The Northern Ireland Women's squad has been announced as they travel to Portugal to play in two friendlies.

They will be facing the UEFA Women's Euro qualifiers on January 17th at 4pm at the National Stadium, Oeiras and then travel to the Estado Municipal de Aueda for their second game on January 19th which kicks off at 6pm.

The trip sees the return of two players from injury. Striker Simone Magill, who hasn't featured for her country since the record breaking 11 second goal in the 4-0 win against Georgia on June 3rd, and goalkeeper Jackie Burns who missed the last two qualifiers.

There's also first time call-ups for Sarah Haddock, Hayley O'Donnell and Chloe McGlade with the latter joining the squad from the Women's Performance Academy at Ulster University which also boasts Jessica Foy and Samantha Kelly.

However, Forward Rachel Furness is an absentee as she recovers from an ankle ligament injury which she suffered at the start of November.
