Following the success of previous recruitment campaigns the search for more referees continues in 2010 with a series of beginner’s courses organised to attract potential new recruits to the game.
The Bawnacre Centre in Irvinestown is currently hosting a course each Thursday night until the end of February, and on Monday 25January, a course will be held at Banbridge Town F.C., with a 20.00hrs start.
On Monday February 1 the Boys Brigade in the North Down area have organised a course at the Ards Arena for their members and it will run for six consecutive Monday evenings.
On Sunday’s 21 & 28 February the Hanwood Centre at Tullycarnet is the venue, with the course starting at 11.00 am and finishing around 17.00 pm on both days.
Coleraine Leisure Centre is the venue on Monday 22 February with a 19.00 hrs kick off, running for four consecutive Monday evenings, three hours per night.
Finally on Sunday’s February 28 and March 7 the Dungannon United Youth Sport complex hosts a course starting at 11.00am and finishing around 17.00pm on both days.
These courses are open to both male and females with no age restrictions applying, and the cost of the course is £50 per person, or £30 for those in full time education.
On completion of the course the participants are qualified to referee at youth or junior level locally in N Ireland.
