IRISH FA PREMIERSHIP - FINAL RANKING OF CLUBS
THE EXECUTIVE Committee, at a meeting this evening, received a report from the Independent Assessment Panel which was established to consider and assess the application forms received from those clubs interested in gaining membership of the new twelve team IFA Premiership.
Sixteen applications were received however two of those applicant clubs, Armagh City FC and Limavady United FC, did not acquire the mandatory domestic license, and Portadown FC submitted their application after the deadline, therefore all three clubs' applications were subsequently not considered.
The final ranking of clubs was noted and approved as follows:
1. Linfield - 1339 points
2. Ballymena United - 1054 points
3. Glentoran - 1016 points
4. Coleraine - 965 points
5. Cliftonville - 945 points
6. Dungannon Swifts - 855 points
7. Glenavon - 828 points
8. Crusaders - 826 points
9. Lisburn Distillery - 815 points
10. Newry City - 796 points
11. Bangor - 641 points
12. Institute - 632 points
13. Donegal Celtic - 543 points
The clubs ranked 1-12 shall be invited to participate in the IFA Premiership which will commence in August 2008.
All clubs were notified of the Final Ranking immediately following this evening's Executive Committee meeting.
