U23 MANAGER PICKS UP AWARD
On the eve of the last match of the season David Jeffrey picked up the ‘Manager of the year award’ at last night’s Northern Ireland Football Writers Awards, held at the Europa Hotel.
Jeffrey, manager of the Northern Ireland U23 team, will lead his team out at Mourneview Park, Lurgan this evening ahead of the International Challenge Match against Republic of Ireland.
Striker Peter Thompson also picked up the ‘Golden Boot award’ after scoring 44 goals in the 2007/08 season.
The Northern Ireland U23 team is made up of players from the Carnegie Premier League with the team from the Republic of Ireland managed by Pat Fenlon and made up of players from the eircom League of Ireland.
