AN Appeals Board met last night (6 May) to consider appeals by Paul Kirk and Tommy Wright against the sanctions imposed by the IFA Disciplinary Committee following the match Ballymena United v Lisburn Distillery on 22 March.
Both managers were suspended for six matches with a stadium ban. Following the Appeals hearing which considered presentations from both managers, their clubs and representatives of the Disciplinary Committee, it was decided that the sanctions should be reduced to a four match touchline/Dressing Rooms ban under the normal conditions of such suspensions. The Appeals Board accepted assurances from the two managers that there would be no repetition of such inappropriate behaviour.
In a further appeal the Appeals Board agreed with the NIBFA that, following a technical error by the referee, the semi final of the NIBFA Under 11 Cup should be replayed between Riada Soccer School and Aquinas.
