BEFORE the Nationwide International on Wednesday, UEFA President Michel Platini will present David Healy with a special award in recognition of his 13 goals in the Euro 2008 qualifying campaign.
The presentation will take place on the pitch at 7.30pm.
The 28-year-old scored against Liechtenstein (five); Spain (three); Sweden (two); Denmark (one); Latvia (one) and Iceland (one) – setting a new record for a European Championship qualifying series.
Supporters are being urged to come along to Windsor Park early on Wednesday night to help create an electrifying atmosphere for the Nationwide International and to be in their seats to see the UEFA President’s presentation to goal-scoring hero, David Healy.
Fans are reminded that stringent ticket checks will be in place and that no alcohol or glassware is permitted inside the ground. All fans are asked to get there early to avoid congestion at the turnstiles, and everyone will be searched prior to gaining entrance, anyone under the influence of alcohol will be refused admission.
The Northern Ireland players, the manager and his backroom staff all say that the role which the fans play is massive – and their non-stop cheering and singing always creates an amazing atmosphere – so remember – get to Windsor Park early on Wednesday evening.
The game kicks-off at 7.45pm.
