NORTHERN Ireland's Under-21s came from behind to defeat Liechtenstein 4-1 in tonight's European Championship qualifier first leg in Vaduz.

Livingston striker Sammy Morrow (pictured) struck twice for Roy Millar's side with further goals coming from Bryan Gilfillan and David Scullion.

The principality moved into the lead after just seven minutes when keeper Michael McGovern failed to prevent a Jeff Hughes backpass rolling under his feet and into the net.

However Morrow levelled on 33 minutes before Gilfillan edged Northern Ireland in front two minutes short of the hour.

Morrow struck again later in the second half with Dungannon Swifts' David Scullion wrapping things up with number four.

The return takes place on May 10th at Windsor Park with the eventual winners going through to the group phase and games with Rumania and Germany.
