Football is known as 'the beautiful game'. The beautiful game has various roles such as referees, players, volunteers in clubs, coaches etc. But how do you get involved?
Players - players are a vital component of our game. No matter what age or gender, you can get involved by contacting a local club in your area or by contacting Andrew Johnston at ajohnston@irishfa.com for men's football or Elaine Junk at elainejunk@btinternet.com for women's football. If you are under 18, then contact Gerry McKee at gmckee@irishfa.com
Referees - referees are important to the game. Without them the game cannot be played. The Association runs a number of courses from beginners to advanced levels. If you are interested in finding out more about becoming a referee email referees@irishfa.com or click here for further information.
Coaches - good coaches who have the right education and training, can help to build better players and better teams. The Association runs a number of coaching programmes namely, Grassroots Introductory Award, Level 1, C Certificate, B Licence, A Licence and Pro Licence. To register your interest please contact Fiona Adair on fadair@irishfa.com (for Grassroots Introductory Award and Level 1 courses) or Mary Wilmont on mwilmont@irishfa.com (for C Certificate, B Licence, A Licence and Pro licence courses). In addition, click here for further information on our coaching courses
Volunteers - football in Northern Ireland is heavily reliant on volunteers - people who work at clubs helping to raise money, wash the kits etc. To get involved simply contact your local club or by contacting Andrew Johnston at ajohnston@irishfa.com. If you wish to help at a youth or kids team, then contact Gerry McKee at gmckee@irishfa.com
