Football for All

Dear Friend,

WITH support from the European Union, the Northern Ireland Community Relations Council and Pobal, the Football For All Project, which is managed by the Irish FA Community Relations Department, aims to create a fun, safe and inclusive culture throughout all levels of Football.

Football For All is committed to tackling both sectarianism and racism. The guiding principles of Football For All are Education, Support and Communication.

The Football For All team is currently working with a wealth of partners in the community, using the universal power of Football, to promote Good Relations. The Football For All team is currently working on the following.

      Education:

1.     Developing Good Relations training for all Irish FA staff and board members.

2.     Football For All domestic seminars to encourage good practice using football to tackle sectarianism and racism.

3.     Ongoing Good Relations awareness training for coaches and volunteers.

4.     Delivery of Football For All anti-sectarian and anti-racism workshops.

Support:

1.     Working with Irish league clubs to develop Community Relations Plans and facilitating innovative Good Relations workshops.

2.     Working in partnership with community groups, fans and volunteers to develop community driven Football For All initiatives to tackle sectarianism and racism.

3.     Supporting the development of the World United intercultural football project, promoting respect for diversity and developing a World United intercultural workshop for youth and community groups.

Communication:

1.     Annual Football For All Awards, hosted by myself - Football For All Ambassador, Colin Murray - rewarding volunteers who use football as a hook to promote Good Relations.

2.     Football For All Dealing With the Past workshops linking clubs with community groups.

3.     Development of free Football For All DVDs highlighting the work of Football For All volunteers.

4.     Development of Football For All Advisory Panel, including key partner organisations, to oversee strategic development and Football For All research.
