ALFIE Wylie has few equals amongst the coaching fraternity in Northern Ireland.
He really has touched base at virtually every level of the game here. Formerly manager of the hugely successful Loughgall side of the mid-90s – four consecutive titles is no mean feat – he moved into the senior ranks with Newry Town before joining Coleraine as Marty Quinn’s assistant, a move which brought the Irish Cup to The Showgrounds for the first time in a generation.
A move back into management followed with Glenavon before a switch to Linfield and the senior coach position.
Alfie also, of course, looks after the fortunes of the Northern Ireland senior, U19 and U17 ladies teams.
