World Championships

Cerebral Palsy Football is 7-a-side, 60 minute game, played outside on grass or 3g. Players are eligible if they have Cerebral Palsy or a restriction in mobility caused by an Acquired Brain Injury or Stroke.

Northern Ireland qualified for the World Championships by finishing in 8th place in the 2014 European Championships. This included a fine 1-0 victory over Germany.

Northern Ireland have been drawn in a difficult group alongside Holland (4th), Argentina (6th) and Canada (11th) but are looking forward to the challenge ahead. Northern Ireland are currently ranked joint (13th) in the World Rankings. The competition objective is to finish higher than this 13th ranking place and continue to climb the World Rankings.
