COMBER Rec Football Club this week played host to a First Aid course. Fourteen people from clubs in the local area completed the course, which was provided free of charge by the Irish FA under its Club Education and Development Programme.
In the period from November 2011 to February 2012 over 200 participants will have successfully completed the course which is being taught by the British Red Cross. The Irish FA hopes that many more participants will register their interest and the first 500 successful ones will even receive a free first aid kit.
IFA Board Member, Conrad Kirkwood, who leads on the programme, said: "This course is vital for all clubs and will help ensure the safe treatment of players who sustain an injury. The Irish FA is delighted to be able to give something back to clubs in this way and I would encourage them to take up this offer as soon as they can.”
If you are interested in attending the course and are a member of an IFA affiliated team, contact Karen McCleave at the Irish FA on 028 90 669 458.
