DURING the latter part of January and beginning of February, IFA Grassroots Development Officer Ken Duncan, attached to Lisburn City Council, facilitated a Level 1 course at Banbridge FC.
The course attracted 24 coaches attached to local clubs including Banbridge Town FC, Banbridge Juniors, Banbridge Rangers and Rathfriland FC. Despite the cold weather conditions all the participants took part in both theory and practical sessions on and off the pitch, with each coach taking a practical assessment on the last day.
With modules in Child Protection, First-Aid and Referees Awareness alongside theory and practical sessions, the three days were full of activity. Each coach expressed their gratitude and enjoyment to all staff involved and left the course eager to move forward with their respective clubs. We wish them all the best of success in the future.
