THE Belfast Dale Farm Schoolgirls’ league kicked-off on Tuesday with Our Lady and St Patrick’s College and St Colm’s High picking up maximum points.
In the Year 8/9 age group goals from Caoimhe Deeny and Julie Curran were enough to secure victory for Our Lady and St Pat’s against a battling St Rose’s side. Julie Curran of Our Lady and St Pat’s was awarded “Player of the Match” for a fantastic performance in centre midfield.
St Colm’s High put in an impressive performance in the year 10/11 section against an inexperienced St Joseph’s team. The score finished 4 – 1 with goals courtesy of a Debbie Kennedy hat-trick and a fourth by Nicole Duffy. Nikki Pauley grabbed a late consolation goal for St Joseph’s. Natalie Gorman was awarded “Player of the Match” for her commanding performance in the St Colm’s defensive backline.
