As part of the new Grassroots Development Officers training program, they were put through there paces by Robin Gregg (CNI) and Brian Delaney (SCNI).
They received information on how they can implement the principles of Long Term Athlete Development into within their programs, and also practical coaching advice on the FUNdamental component of children’s development through sport. Trevor Erskine (Grassroots Manager) states that “this component of their training program educates the Grassroots Officers on the FUNdamenal movement skills and the physical literacy required for Key Stage 1&2 at primary school level. The sessions were very informative and covered the ABC’S (Agility, Balance, Co-Ordination, Speed) of child development. This will prove extremely useful for the Grassroots Officers working within the Curriculum”.
