Friendly isn't just another game for Brunt

Chris Brunt wants Northern Ireland to keep building as they face New Zealand on Friday night at the National Football Stadium at Windsor Park.

The West Bromwich Albion player shared how the Vauxhall International Challenge Match against New Zealand is about more than just minutes: "You don't want to just turn up and go through the motions.

"You want to keep building on the last result against Norway but obviously some of the lads will also want to get match fitness on board."

The game is the chance to prepare ahead of the FIFA World Cup Qualifier against Azerbaijan on June 10 and Brunt believes the New Zealand game is ideal for the squad, he said: "It's important that after a few weeks off we get a few minutes under our belts before facing Azerbaijan.

"Our main focus is Azerbaijan but (New Zealand) is a nice way to build up, at home where we want to keep doing well especially."
