McMaster and Bassett reflect on their goals in 4-0 win against Wales

Captain Emma McMaster believes the Women Under 19s showed what they are capable of as they completed the double over Wales in the Super Cup.

McMaster scored with a double from Rebecca Bassett followed by Louise McDaniel's goal just before half time. The result will be of great confidence heading into the UEFA Women's Under 19 Championships which begin in just over two weeks.

They won the two games 3-1 and 4-0 and McMaster was proud of the squad, she said: "It was two great performances from the girls. We just went out and showed how good we are defensively and that we can go out and score goals against great countries before going into these finals.

Her stunning strike gave Northern Ireland Women Under 19s the lead and set them on the way to their convincing victory at the Ballymena Showgrounds.

When asked if she had scored better, McMaster said: "No I don't think so. I think that is one of my best, i donIt score too often so it was great to score and get us off to a great start."

Rebecca Bassett marked her first start after injury with two first half goals & she described her first goal by saying: "The first one I remember having my back to the defender, turned her and ran onto goal. I remember trying to get her off but then put it into the bottom corner."
