BLOCK BOOKING TICKETS

A DECISION was made by the IFA's Executive Committee and ratified at Thursday night's meeting with regards to the issue of a single payment for the World Cup 2010 Block Booking tickets.

The cost for adult supporters will be £165 for the campaign and £115 for those under 16 years of age in the family enclosure. The deadline for payment for existing Block Bookers for the World Cup Block Booking scheme will be the end of June.

There are no plans to move international games outside of Northern Ireland; however the Association would reiterate its statement that the IFA would welcome a new stadium to accommodate existing fans and the thousands of supporters who cannot get Block Booking tickets due to the capacity of Windsor Park.

The IFA has resisted pressure from the population outside of the Block Booking Scheme, many of whom felt the Association should have opened up the ticket allocation to the public at large. However the IFA has remained loyal to those who have been Block Bookers for many years.

Non Block Bookers will have the opportunity to make application (with no initial payment), to be considered for any available tickets once the existing Block Bookers' priority opportunity has lapsed.

For those supporters, should there be more applications than tickets available, it is likely that the tickets will be allocated via a lottery.

Full details of the application process will be posted on the IFA website.
