Northern Ireland's campaign came to a disappointing end, losing 2-0 to Belgium in the Larne Plate final to finish fourth overall.

The Belgians took the lead in the 17th minute when Lauren Spruyt headed powerfully past Jonathan Sergeant, but Northern Ireland battled back strongly in the second half and went close to levelling the game on more than one occasion. William Faulkner was unfortunate to see both a shot and a header cleared off the goalline while a free-kick from Brian McCaul went just wide.

But Belgium wrapped up the victory with a second goal a minute from time courtesy of a fine run and finish from Raffaele Chiarelli.
