PERIODISATION IN FOOTBALL COURSE

The Irish FA was pleased to be able to host a One-Day Course on ‘Periodisation in Football’ at the Ulster University, Jordanstown on Sunday 15 January 2012.
The course was presented by the UK Football Academy, a contemporary organisation for coaches experienced in delivering high quality courses and conferences. The one day theory and practical course was delivered by top Dutch coach, Raymond Verheijen who is well known for his work with National teams such as Holland, Korea and Russia, as well as club teams such as Barcelona, Chelsea and Manchester City. Raymond was Assistant Manager under the late Gary Speed for the Welsh National Team.
The 40 coaches who attended benefited from the detailed presentations which undoubtedly stimulated thinking about the preparation of fitness programmes for teams.
Given the success of this one day course, the Irish FA and UK Football Academy are considering further opportunities to run courses in Northern Ireland.
