FOOTBALL ‘SKILLS’ DEVELOPMENT CENTRES
The Irish FA's Football Development Centres programme is a key component of the IFA’s Grassroots Development Strategy and provides boys and girls, aged between 6 and 12, with the opportunity to play football and develop their skills regardless of ability.
This initiative combines Football ‘Skills’ and Football ‘Games’ Development Centres and provides a safe, pressure-free environment aimed at enhancing the learning and playing experiences available to young footballers.
FOOTBALL ‘SKILLS’ DEVELOPMENT CENTRES:
The Football ‘Skills’ Development Centres provide children with fun and informal coaching to learn new football skills and also promote the benefits of a healthy lifestyle.

FOOTBALL ‘GAMES’ DEVELOPMENT CENTRES:
The Football ‘Games’ Development Centres give young players the opportunity to put into practice the skills they have acquired at the Football ‘Skills’ Development Centres in a competitive game situation.
The Football ‘Games’ Development Centres aim to replace the emphasis on the result by creating a playing environment that allows players to express themselves and be inventive.
